Clients coming to the Gateway may have a number of questions. Here is a list of commonly ask questions. If you have any additional questions, please call us at 704-638-2000.

What do I bring with me?
Bring personal toiletries such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, towels and wash cloths.

Should I go to a Detox Facility first?
No, but you must be clean 72 hours prior to being admitted.

What kind of clothes should I bring?
Casual dress is fine. Bring comfortable clothes. Do not bring clothing that has holes in them, clothing that is tight, pants hanging below the hips, stomach uncovered, and short shorts are not permitted.

Will I be able to write letters?
Yes, bring postage, and envelopes.

May I have visitors?
There is visitation for our clients on Sunday from 6-8 PM.

May I smoke at the Gateway?
Yes, there are designated smoking areas.

How much clothes may I bring to the Gateway?
Bags equivalent to two small suit cases.

Will I be able to use the phone?
No, for the first 14 days, there after you must use your own cell phone.

May I bring my own snacks?
No outside food or beverages are allowed.

Is there treatment available for my family as well?
There is no in-patient treatment for family members; however, there is a group family meeting for client family members every Tuesday night from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, after 14 day period.
